Our story

A neighbourhood studio, built to last

Bertrum Nivonu SARL was founded in Lyon by Camille Vernet, a sound engineer, after some fifteen years working in studios and concert venues across the region. The idea was simple: give Lyon artists a professional, quiet and approachable place where you know in advance what you will pay.

We chose a former ground-floor workshop set back on a courtyard in the 7th arrondissement. The courtyard shields us from street noise; the stone structure provides useful mass for isolation. The works consisted of building three independent rooms on floating slabs, connected by double doors and a technical duct.

The studio works by appointment only. There is no permanent front desk: when you come, the engineer in charge of your project is waiting for you.

The spaces

Three rooms, three uses

Control room — 24 m²

A symmetrical listening room treated with absorption and diffusion, with a direct view into the live room. We record, mix and hold playback sessions with artists here. A sofa at the back for group listening.

Live room — 38 m²

Wooden floor, 3.60 m ceiling and movable panels to adjust reverberation to the line-up. It fits a five-piece band, a string quartet or a small choir.

Vocal booth — 7 m²

Very dry, quietly ventilated, with eye contact to the control room. Used for vocals, voiceover, audiobooks and solo instruments.
